The Facility
STTC offers training for public safety, law enforcement and military personnel.

What began as providing grants to local law enforcement agencies for training and equipment has evolved into a state-of-the-art tactical training center. Under the direction of W. Charles ("Chuck") Swanson, Chairman and CEO of the Swanson Foundation, the STTC provides specialized instruction for public safety, law enforcement and military personnel, including basic-level academy instruction.
On-site training can include Active Shooter, crime scene processing, clandestine drug laboratory training, K-9 and drug/bomb training, defensive tactics, civil disorder and fire and rescue services.
Features of the STTC include:
- A 3,200 sq. ft. Defensive Tactics training area with mats, striking dummies and two close-quarters fighting rooms.
- A realistic "urban village" consisting of residence structures, a motel, "working" bank and convenience store that are complete with furniture, controllable lighting and cameras to record training events.
- A 13,000 sq. ft. school complete with furniture, sound equipment, lockers, hallways classrooms and camera for recording training events.
